Our short Easter break is here and with it the days are begining to draw closer. We can already begin to feel the chill in the air in the mornings.
Noting that chill, might I ask you all to make sure your child grabs their jumper before leaving home? We have a number of children 'forgetting' and they often find themselves a little chilly when in the yard.
I wish to congratulate our primary students on the great athletic carnival held last week. I am always proud to see the enthusiasm with which our children take on the challenge of 'having a go', you showed courage and I was impressed with your ability to work together in teams to support each other and your houses.
Congratulations are also due to our interschool athletic team who participated at the Domain yesterday. It was a great day. All our students showed the values that we expect each day, especially when representing our school. Our respectful team worked together, striving to do their best and acting responsibly and sensibly. Both staff and parents who attenderd have reported to me that they were very impressed by the efforts and enthusiasm shown by all competitors and that they were really proud to be part of our team. "The best carnival ever!" they said. Well done to you all!
Finally, I do wish you and your families a safe and restful Easter break. We are looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday the 3rd of April.
Kind regards
Our year 3-6 Athletics Carnival was a great success despite the challenges the weather threw our way. The anticipation was high as students waited for their chance to take part in the races and events and the opportunity to earn points for their school house.
The participation rate was excellent and it was wonderfull to see our students enthusiastically cheering on their team mates.
Scores were very tight with Wellington taking first place, Tolosa came a very close second, Bowen in third place and Derwent in a very respectable fourth place.
Well done to everyone!
32 of our students headed up to the Domain Athletic Centre yesterday to particpate in the Interschool Carnival.
The weather was lovely and it was really awesome to see the sportsmanship not only between our own students but between all schools.
The were some great performances from our team members against some pretty tough opposition.
We congratulate our entire team on their enthusiasm and 'never give up' attitude.
