Lifting Literacy Update

Team Glenorchy is working hard on delivering lessons in word recognition through UFLI or Word Origins. Students are engaged and are excited about reading!

The Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) began on the 16^th of June and will run until the 24^th of August. Students from P-6 were given PRC reading logs and information sheets at the beginning of this week. We hope to have as many students participating as possible. Participation certificates and prizes will be handed out in Week 6 of Term 3.

Our new home reading program has started, and it is wonderful to see many students reading at home on a regular basis. Asking your child to read aloud to you for 10 mins every night is one the most powerful ways to support their reading journey.
