Evidence of Learning (EoL) at Glenorchy Primary School:

  • is an ongoing and integral part of quality teaching
  • can be a work sample or observation and some feedback for the student
  • may address more than one curriculum learning area (P–Year 6)
  • is for learning plans to address more than one key outcome
  • is a ‘point in time’ assessment addressing parts of the achievement standards/outcomes and a next step in learning
  • can be at any time in a learning sequence or unit
  • includes feedback aligned to the success criteria (from the achievement standards or learning goals), highlighting what has been achieved and a next step in learning
  • can include a rubric or skills checklist showing the area/s for future focus
  • includes feedback being shared with the student and then with families.

An Evidence of Learning works this way:

We thank our teachers for designing learning opportunities that ALL students can access and participate in showing their thinking and for co-producing an Evidence of Learning with your child that meets reporting and assessment requirements, but most importantly helps your child receive timely feedback against the curriculum.

Every student learns in their own way and each Evidence of Learning will be as unique as your child, but the way your child presents the work gives the teacher insights into their understanding of the concepts being taught. At our Family Conversations we will be sharing this learning journey with our families, and this helps you understand not only what your child is learning, but how, why, and what is next and how you can help support them too.
